Another use for a church!

Inside the West Ham Central Mission church the BBC Symphony Orchestra is seen playing and recording. The picture was taken in the 1970s before interior adaptation altered both the size and the acoustics. The orchestras and bands of the Newham Academy of Music often used this building. The church- located in the Barking Road opposite Plaistow police station- is now called Memorial Community Church.
