Jim Fitzpatrick  MP  Jim Fitzpatrick was born in Glasgow in 1952 and moved to London in 1973.He served with London Fire Brigade for 23 years. 

In 1997 he was elected as Labour Member of Parliament for the (then) new constituency of Poplar and Canning Town

He is currently(2007) Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Transport.
