FOREST GATE FACES EXHIBITION - 1930s
Nell Thomas and her husband who are on the right of the group with some of her helpers in Chapter Street. They are sorting through the rags and old cloths that they had purchased that day. This was a profitable business; the items were sorted into different types of fabric and sold on, to be used for various purposes. The best garments would be retained and re-sold at a profit.
