West Ham Parish boundary stone 1864. This is located  close to the corner of Hampton Road and Balmoral Road, just before the road goes over the  railway bridge. The reverse of the stone appears also to have borne an inscription as part of  a date is partially discernable. The stone bears the number 4, suggesting it must have been one of a series of such markers. Possibly these were used in "beating the bounds" ceremonies.
